Owls Lodge is a beautiful bed & breakfast, set in the tranquil village of Carmel, near to the administrative market town of Carmarthen, the historic town of Llandeilo, the Drovers town of Llandovery, Ammanford and Llanelli.

The largest of the towns is Llanelli, here you will find under cover markets, shopping centres, restaurants, museums all the usual things you would find in a large town. Llanelli is also near to the beautiful beach at Pembrey Country Park, this park has everything you could wish for, a beautiful sandy beach, play areas for the children, camping facilities, woodland areas and walks, horse riding, dry ski slope, information/activity points all within a 45 minute drive.

Carmarthen is a large bustling market town cloaked in legends of Arthur and Merlin, with historic buildings and its own Castle ruin, it has a covered market and an open market (main days Wednesday & Saturday). There are a lot of small unusual shops as well as the big names for the dedicated shopper. Approx 30-45 minutes drive.

The historic town of Llandeilo named after the 16th Centuary saint Teilo is accessed by the largest single-span stone bridge in Wales, boasts two castles one being Dinefwr park and Castle (a former ancient capital and royal seat) and Carreg Cennen which us the largest of the two castles perched high on a limestone crag. Carreg Cennen has an underground tunnel which can be visited, along with a very nice tearoom. (Trapp 10 mins from Llandeilo). Llandeilo is steeped in history and still retains most of the old buildings, it is full of the unusual shops selling bespoke items made in the locality, Llandeilo is situated just on the back edge of the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park which includes the spectacular Black Mountains.

Along the A40 travelling towards Carmarthen you will find Aberglasney Gardens (Broad Oak), The National Botanic Gardens of Wales, Dryslwyn Castle, Paxtons Tower, from this vantage point you can see most of the beautiful Towy Valley (Llanarthne).
With all this it makes Owls Lodge a perfect base to explore and enjoy the beauty of West Wales.
